the arch/ves
- Architecture, Urbanism and Design Archive of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (FA-ULisboa) - plays a strategic role in supporting the architectural rehabilitation and enhancement of built heritage, providing qualified technical documentation to support careful and informed interventions. The consultation of original projects, construction drawings, descriptive memories and photographic records has been essential to ensure the authenticity, integrity and technical compatibility of rehabilitation actions, in line with the principles of the Venice Charter and ICOMOS guidelines.
The archive has collaborated with municipalities, project offices and heritage organizations in the diagnosis and characterization of modernist buildings, Centenary Plan schools, religious heritage and 20th century social housing. This applied dimension demonstrates the operational usefulness of archival collections and their relevance to the requalification of the built environment.
