Graduated in Architecture from Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 1997 Francisco Vaz Monteiro is a registered architect since 1998. He is currently partner of Roseta Vaz Monteiro Arquitectos, an architectural practice co-founded in 2001 with Filipa Roseta, where he developed several projects including the Boa Nova Church, a Primary School, a Community Centre and residential typologies.

He was based in London, from 2006 to 2008, where he worked for Foster + Partners in teams developing large scale architectural projects for Moscow (Russia Tower and Pushkin Museum Extension), London (Battersea Masterplan), Lusail and Lisbon. In his earlier professional years, he worked for Lisbon-based architectural practices and for the Portuguese delegation of the international foundation World Monuments Fund. Parallel to this practice, he finished a Postgraduate course in Architectural Detail/Construction Technologies in Instituto Superior Técnico.
