Ludovice's architectural education began at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa, where he graduated in 1953. His early architectural career included internships with Francisco Keil do Amaral and work on urban projects such as the development of Monsanto equipments, in Lisbon.
In addition to architecture, Ludovice was a prolific composer. In 1951, he composed the hymn "Europa em Marcha," which was later adopted by NATO in 1952 as the "Atlantic Hymn." This composition gained international recognition, being played in various countries and broadcast by Emissora Nacional during NATO meetings.
Ludovice's career spanned both Portugal and Angola. In the 1950s, he worked for the Lisbon City Council and later served as the Chief Architect for the municipality of Sines, where he developed the Sines Urbanization Plan. He also contributed to the monument design competition for Infante D. Henrique in Sagres and later became involved in various architectural projects in Angola. Notably, he designed the Esplanada Capela at Senhora do Monte in Sá da Bandeira (now Lubango), a structure that remains an iconic symbol of Angola.
From 1960 to 1963, Ludovice was the Chief Architect for the Angolan Ministry of Public Works and Communications. Afterward, he continued his career in Angola, eventually becoming a professor at the University of Luanda, where he taught various architectural and mathematical subjects. He remained in Angola until 1975, when he returned to Portugal and later retired in 1982 to Sobral de Monte Agraço.
In recognition of his contributions, Ludovice was honored in 2012 in Lubango for his work on the Esplanada Miradouro da Tundavala and a commemorative plaque was placed in his honor.
