Maria Manuel Godinho de Almeida (1940–) is a Portuguese architect renowned for her contributions to cooperative housing, urban design, and public architecture. A graduate of the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa (ESBAL), she pursued further studies at Yale University's School of Architecture in the United States, earning her Master of Architecture in 1974. Early in her career, she participated in the Luso-Swedish Cooperative Program, overseeing the design and construction of three cooperative housing developments.

In 1978, Godinho de Almeida co-founded the architectural firm Utopos with Duarte Cabral de Mello, focusing on innovative and socially responsive projects. Her work received national recognition in 1993 when she was awarded the National Architecture Prize by the Associação dos Arquitectos Portugueses (AAP) and the Ministério do Planeamento e Administração do Território (MPAT) for her design of the CHUT neighborhood in Caparica. This award celebrated her integration of architectural design, urban planning, and public spaces.

Her notable achievements include winning first prize in the competition for the detailed urban plan and exterior spaces of the 75-hectare northern area of the EXPO’98 precinct in Lisbon. This landmark project reflected her expertise in large-scale urban design and innovative public space solutions.

An academic as well as a practitioner, Godinho de Almeida was an assistant professor at the Faculdade de Arquitectura of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (UTL) from 1980 to 2011, where she taught Architectural Design and Theory-History of Architecture. She also served as the coordinator of the Architecture degree program during her tenure.

Beyond academia and practice, she represented Portugal in the Habitat Working Group of the International Union of Architects and served as a member and president of the Conselho Nacional de Delegados of the Ordem dos Arquitectos (2014–2017).
