Pedro Pacheco works in Lisbon since 1996, he has developed his activity in multiple areas, which comprise professional practice, university teaching, architecture criticism, curating exhibitions and editing publications. He has taken part in various lectures, architecture workshops and seminars, as well as in national and international exhibitions and has also published numerous works in Portugal and abroad. His architecture practice has a large and diversified range of intervention fields, from territorial research to architecture and architecture heritage, from rehabilitation to urban planning, or interior design and furniture. Some of its main works are the museum, cemetery the reconstruction of Luz church and more recently the rehabilitation of the new Pedro Pacheco architects office. Each project generates a new process of thinking and research, from a cultural reading of the territory, to an architectural approach anchored on relations between place, memory and materiality.
Pedro Pacheco was graduated in 1991 in architecture in Oporto Faculty of Architecture (FAUP). He undertook his professional training in the studio of Josep Llinás in Barcelona, under the supervision of Eduardo Souto de Moura. From 1992 to 1996 he collaborated with the architect Fernando Távora in Oporto and from 1996 to 2004 he created an architecture studio with José Adrião, restarting joint cooperation in 2013. In 2004 he opened his own studio in Lisbon. Between 1996 and 2007 he worked together with Marie Clément in the projects for Luz and Estrela villages in the south of Portugal. He is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Lisbon (FAUL) since 2004 and also in the Architecture Department of Évora University since 2012.
